About me

I'm Mark Turner, and I love theatre production and rehearsal photography.

My very first experience of theatre photography was with Lionel Blair, Peter Simon, Nicholas Parsons. As a photographer for The Event newspaper in Norwich, I covered the launch of the Norwich Theatre Royal 1993 pantomime 'Dick Whittington and His Cat'.

Since 2012 I’ve specialised in photographing theatre productions and rehearsals. For the last three years my focus has been on making photos for marketing professional theatre productions.

If you like what I do, and have a budget for photography, please get in touch using the form at the bottom of this page, or via my social media links.

My production photography includes:

Additionally I've covered a variety of events, including the launch of Digital Midsummer at Derby Quad, a spoken voice coaching session by Hendrix Voice, Capel Military Vehicle Show (2017, 2018), The Lord Mayor's Show (2015, 2016, 2017), and Pride in London (2017 and 2019).

My photography style is documentary/reportage, which is ideally suited to capturing the action as it unfolds at theatre productions and workshops, dress and technical rehearsals, events, and in dance/drama classes. I’m also happy to experiment a little, once I have the shots my client needs.
